Lampao Non-Hunting Area has been designated as a Non-Hunting Area according to the Ministry's announcement, Agriculture and Cooperatives on July 16, 1988, having a total area of responsibility of 210,938 rai, covering two provinces, namely Kalasin Province in Mueang District, Sahatsakhan District, Tha Khan Tho District, Nong Kung Si District, Yang Talat King District, Samchai District, Huai Mek District, and Udon Thani Province, in the area of Wang Sam Mo District, Si That District, Kumphawapi District, the general condition is the entire lake surface of the Lam Pao Dam. There are approximately 1,600 rai of deciduous dipterocarp forest, including the area of the Wildlife Conservation Development and Promotion Station.
